glenrothes 41 yo 1968 | 43%

An old 50ml miniature of Glenrothes 41 yo 1968 , Single Malt Whisky from Speyside in Scotland. Distilled 19.06.1968 and bottled 22.02.2010 for the Peerless range from Duncan Taylor. Matured in Oak Cask No. 9974 and bottled at 43% abv.

Fresh and fruity, with insane notes of pineapples on butter cream and even a little bubblegum. Incredible. It’s also pretty close to ‘the barley’, smelling at times just like a freshly opened bag of high-end muesli. Behind this madness (considering the age), several mild spices, cinnamon, cardamom…Really spectacular.

It’s spectacularly on bubblegum, white chocolate and butter cream, even fruity beer (wash!), then more mango and passion fruit, with a sourness from the wood behind all that. Cider apples, ale and bubblegum, then more cinnamon once again.

Medium length finish, with more cocoa powder and orange juice.

A wonderful dram of creamy fruits, biscuits and strawberry jam.
