FACTS

NOSE

Old good sherry, with lots of dried fruits like raisins and figs, plum jam, hints of cherry liqueur, then, some nutty notes, butterscotch and gentle smoke.

PALATE

Intense and powerful, oily and sweet, with oloroso sherry, raisins and ripe dark fruits like cherry and plums, then, some herbal notes and spices, gentle oaky dryness in the end, really rich.

FINISH

Long length finish, with lingering warm sweetness, then liquorice and some spices, hints of bitter chocolate and oak, lovely dry.

OVERALL

This kind of sherry can only be expected of Strathisla and maybe also of some other distilleries like GlenDronach, it’s very old and it’s heavy on the sherry, not excessively complex, but an exceptional, fantastic, lovely whisky.
